Miriam was a huge help a couple of weeks ago when my mom asked my brother and me to help her sort and organize her garage. The place was fairly uncluttered to start, but a bunch of decisions needed to be made and the end result is a functional, organized garage. I personally learned a great deal working with Miriam. The pivotal point came near the end of the day when my mother held up the deteriorated corsage that my father had given her on their wedding day. As she started to place it back in the trunk Miriam asked “If you throw it away, you were still married to him, right?” She looked at it a while and said, “Well of course!” Then she threw it away. We tend to hang on to “stuff” because we feel as though the memories will go away if the “stuff” goes away. Had we not hired Miriam, we would still be staring into the first box of memorabilia. We kept the important things that represented milestones in my father’s and grandparent’s lives. Now when my mom pulls into her garage, she sees organized accessible shelves and cabinets and a life-sized poster of Paul Newman! Thanks Miriam! – Carter Taylor

I am a chronic messy person. Give almost any degree of time, long or short, I will build piles of paper surrounding me on my desk, and even on the floor around my desk. I know Miriam Ortiz y Pino, and I know she gets results for her clients. So, whenever I see one of her emails arrive (she is very systematic and sends them all the time), that is my cue to clean up some of the piles around me. I’ve extolled Miriam’s skills to you before, telling how she is helping me with my 30+ years and not-to-be-told number of boxes of paperwork. She has done that by encouraging, cajoling, and teasing me into a toss-keep-organize-file and now-can-find attitude.
When I was bogged down or to a mental melt-down state and couldn’t do any more, she’d pitch in and do the first sort, making it easier for me to focus on what was truly necessary or important. Never judging, always helping me to keep my eye on the outcome, she has helped me put into place something that works for me–not a system that I’ll discard in the future and relapse again into mounds of paper.

I am so glad Miriam had come to my house. She streamlined my kitchen so well that I no longer stress out when it comes time for dinner. After taking days to declutter one room and not getting very far, it was time to call in a pro. Miriam made more progress in three hours than I had in a month in just one room.
